Speech-Language Pathologists like Jenelle play a vital role in enhancing quality of life, particularly for older adults. She works with individuals recovering from strokes or living with neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s Disease to rebuild their speech and language skills, supports those with memory loss including dementia in developing cognitive compensatory strategies, assists seniors experiencing swallowing difficulties (known as dysphagia) to improve the strength of the swallow muscles and ensure safer eating and drinking. Jenelle also helps clients manage voice changes, weakened vocal cords, and social communication challenges.

“Speech therapy is about more than just speech,” Jenelle explains. “It’s about helping seniors connect, express themselves, and maintain their independence.”

Jenelle is a certified member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and has been recognized for her innovative approaches to cognitive rehabilitation. She develops personalized care plans following comprehensive evaluations, tailoring her strategies to each client’s unique challenges and health goals. Her plans often include exercises to address speech, communication and swallow difficulties, education on memory/cognitive strategies, and teaching safer swallowing techniques — all designed to empower seniors to live more engaged, fulfilling lives.

We are proud to have Jenelle as part of the Mary Ann Morse Home Care Medicare-certified skilled team. Her dedication and expertise make a meaningful difference every day!
