We organize, staff and sponsor stimulating, relevant activities for residents and their families that entertain, encourage socialization and fight boredom, loneliness and depression. Social engagement, intellectual stimulation, humor, appropriate entertainment – these are all available and promoted through a widely circulated calendar of activities.
Activities and opportunities to engage, learn and just laugh are as much a part of healthy lifestyle as medical and therapeutic care. Upon admissions arrival, the activities staff interviews each long-term resident and their families to create a profile. Reading materials, CDs, DVDs, players and computers are made available, based on the residents’ individual abilities and desires. Arts, crafts, hobbies – we have them all available and we actively encourage our residents to continue, revive or learn a new hobby, craft or leisure activity.
