Mary Ann Morse Healthcare Center Update: COVID-19, Visitation

November 23, 2020 – After one of our patients went to the hospital and tested positive for COVID-19 last week, we have been conducting comprehensive testing on our residents and staff in adherence to current guidelines.  Thus far, 4 positive cases of COVID-19 have been identified; all are patients. Two of the four that have tested positive for COVID-19 are in an isolation area within Mary Ann Morse Healthcare Center. The other two were sent to the hospital. Currently, all of the positive cases have been on the Alder Unit. All necessary precautions are in place.  All of our staff have tested negative.  As always we have notified the appropriate governing bodies and continue to work with our Epidemiologist contact from the Department of Public Health on our comprehensive plan.

Due to this concern, we are suspending indoor visits. In keeping with regulations from the Department of Public Health, which states “If the facility determines that a confirmed or suspected case within the facility presents a risk for all units, the facility in its discretion may suspend indoor visits.” We are so sorry to announce this on the Thanksgiving holiday week, but feel we have no other choice in an effort to keep everyone safe. We will re-assess on Monday, November 30, 2020.

We are encouraging Virtual Visits. Please contact us to schedule one of those appointments.  If you have questions or concerns, please contact us at 508-433-4400.

We wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving.

Sincerely,

Carol Kapolka, Executive Director

Mary Ann Morse Healthcare Corp.
