Mary Ann Morse Healthcare Center Community Update: COVID-19

As of November 25, 2020, with this new surge, there have been a total of twelve positive COVID cases at Mary Ann Morse Healthcare Center. Two of the patients have passed at the hospital, one is in the hospital and 9 of the residents are in our isolation unit that is a closed section of the Alder Unit. At this point, the cases have been contained to the Alder Unit. There are no positive cases on the Birch or Cedar Units. All of our staff have tested negative.

We have notified the appropriate governing bodies and continue to work with our Epidemiologist contact from the Department of Public Health on our comprehensive plan.

As we all know, the surge is underway within Massachusetts and the country. We learned on our weekly call with the Department of Public Health that there are currently COVID positive cases in 229 nursing homes in Massachusetts.

As always, but especially at this time of year, we are thankful for our residents and families. We appreciate your trust, support and kindness. We will continue to do our very best to serve you. We are grateful for all of you.

Sincerely,

Carol Kapolka, Executive Director

Mary Ann Morse Healthcare Center
