Mary Ann Morse Healthcare Center Update: COVID-19 and Visitation to Birch & Cedar

As of December 7, 2020, there have been a total of thirteen positive COVID-19 cases at Mary Ann Morse Healthcare Center. Three have recovered, three of the residents are in our isolation unit that is a closed section of the Alder Unit, two are currently in the hospital and four of the patients have passed. The cases have been contained to the Alder Unit. We have had no new resident or staff cases since December 1, 2020. There are no positive cases on the Birch or Cedar Units. We continue with weekly surveillance testing.

We have one staff member that has tested positive for COVID-19 and will be out for the required isolation period.

We have notified the appropriate governing bodies and continue to work with our Epidemiologist contact from the Department of Public Health on our comprehensive plan.

With the active COVID cases headed in the right direction, we will be opening up for visitors to residents on the Birch and Cedar Units on Wednesday December 9 using the Private Dining Room and the Card and Game Room. Per guidance from the Department of Public Health, since there are still active cases on the Alder Unit, we will not be able to allow visitors to the residents on that unit. Please call Mary Ann Morse to schedule your in-person visit. Also, keep in mind that a Virtual Visit is always an option.

As always, if there is anything that we can do to help, please call us at 508-433-4400. Looking forward to seeing you!

Sincerely,

Carol Kapolka, Executive Director

Mary Ann Morse Healthcare Center
