Mary Ann Morse Healthcare Center Community Update

Aug 20, 2021 – I am writing to provide you with some of the most recent updates at Mary Ann Morse Healthcare Center, based on revised guidance from the Department of Public Health.

Vaccination Status

As you may have seen in a previous post, Mary Ann Morse’s vaccination rate for staff is 96% ,and 97% of our residents have been vaccinated. We are extremely proud of and thankful to our staff for realizing the importance of being vaccinated, as we are tasked with caring for a vulnerable population, a job we take seriously.

Based on Governor Baker’s Order and Mary Ann Morse’s adoption of this Order, we will be requiring all staff to be vaccinated by October 10, 2021. We are working toward this end. However, during the interim, we are having unvaccinated staff take the BinaxNOW Rapid Test prior to each shift worked, per the regulations. If negative, they are allowed to continue to their workstation. If positive, a PCR test will be given and the employee will be sent home, to follow the required COVID-19 quarantine protocol.

Staff Testing

As of August 12, 2021, we are required to test (PCR) all staff weekly. This regulation was relaxed for a period of time, but is again in effect. We ended the first week of testing all staff yesterday and we are pleased to report, there were no positive staff cases.

Visitation

We have had many visitors to the building in the recent months and are thrilled to see the joy that it brings to all involved.

Just a reminder and a thank you in advance for your cooperation. Based on regulations, we are requiring all visitors to the building to wear a mask at all times while in the building.

As always, if there is anything that we can help with, please call us at 508-433-4400.
